Need help in getting a fan controller

Post by Gremlin » Tue Dec 17, 2019 11:24 am

I am building a new system with the following specs

1) Motherboard : ASUS X570 Prime - Pro
2) Case : Lian Li LanCool II
3) CPU : AMD Ryzen 3600
4) Memory : GSkill 16 GB
5) CoolerMaster Masterfan SF120 x 3

So the issue is I am an RGB noob..since that has been established. Motherboard has one 5V ARGB port and one 12V RGB 4 port.

I bought a TT Premium Fan Controller since ASUS page said that was the only compatible one, not knowing that it only works with RIING fans..

Coolermaster has a controller but it only sells with an AIO Cooler (which sux). Created a support ticket (no response) and visited reddit section.

Looked at PHanteks, XPC and does not work. Emailed Thermaltake no response.

In my head my options are as follows:

1) sell Lancool II case and get a Phanteks P400a for the same price

2) Go all with RIING fans

I am open to suggestions.

With that being said, For those with RGB in their cases, what controllers and fans do you use? The 12v RGB header are for RGB strips only correct?

Thank you for your help :)

If your motherboard has the type of header you need then all you need is a splitter for the motherboard header and you can control the whole setup via your motherboard's RGB software.

This is a good example of what each one can do:
