Painting SGCC Steel, and Custom Tempered Glass Questions

Post by xkro » Thu Oct 31, 2019 12:25 pm

Hey Everyone!

I just purchased the NZXT H510 Elite and was wondering about a couple things.
1. Can I paint on the inside? Painting the inside white bracket to red. You can take it out, and I was just curious about how you can paint it or if I should with it being next to the motherboard and wires.

2. Does anyone know how much, or if it's possible to do the front panel custom? The airflow for this case is pour and I was wondering about getting a custom piece done on the front with some Air Holes.

Anything can be painted. I'm not sure why being next to the motherboard would matter? Anyway if you wanted to customize it without paint you could also use vinyl.

The front panel is a flat rectangle I believe so it should be super easy to fab something up. I'd consider a large piece of black steel mesh with something around the border to trim it. Simplest would be rubber u-channel. You could even attach it with neodymium magnets if you wanted it to be easy to clean.

Is there a place to get custom vinyl done, or is there someone here that can? I don't know of anyone that does that, I had to look up exactly what you meant by vinyl since I've never done that. But that does look like something that would work better than trying to paint the little bit I want to do.

If you just want to do plain red then you can get sheets of vinyl on Amazon. You can wrap the piece and trim it with a sharp blade. If you want a custom design then I don't have a specific source but there are plenty of print shops that could handle it.
