Ship type: I'll pick up and ship to him myself
Last LAN: PDXLAN 32A
Current GPU: doesn't have one
Why: Finally convinced one of my childhood friends to come to a LAN. He's a console gamer. He was able to borrow a rig for the LAN, but is now saving up to put a rig of his own together. We've converted another console gamer.

Ship type: Pick up
Last LAN: PDXLAN 31
Current GPU: R7 260x
Why: Our 11 year old Son - we are in the process of acquiring parts to build him a PC for Xmas using Parts my Fiance and I have won at PDXLANs and ones Donated\Sponsored by Family and Friends. We don't have the extra money to just buy it all at once so we have been slowly saving and looking for Deals. He is an Amazing Son, Brother to his two little sisters and all around good person. And we think he deserves a Special Gaming PC of his own.

Ship type: Pickup
Last Lan: 32B
Current GPU: AMD 7950
Why: I have a dedicated box for supporting the "Folding@Home" project. Folding@home (FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing project for disease research that simulates protein folding, computational drug design, and other types of molecular dynamics. As of today, the project is using the idle resources of personal computers owned by volunteers from all over the world. Thousands of people contribute to the success of this project. I run this box 24/7/365 - for over 4 years now. I am supporting Cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, cystic fibrosis, BSE (Mad Cow disease) and Parkinson's research. The box has an Intel 990X CPU. But the 7950 does about 70% of the work. I need a newer GPU to complete a greater number of work units. And I would be happy to pass down the 7950 if I get the 970 or 980! Due to the fact that I'm on disability I don't have the money to replace the system - so this would be a great help!

Ship type: Pick up
Last LAN: PDXLAN 31
Current GPU: GTX680
Why: Was having some issues with paying for basic household items after covering a down payment for an apartment. Roommate (who also went to PDXLAN) agreed to cover some of these expenses for us for a bit, and in exchange I swapped him my GTX1070 (won at the LAN) for his GTX680, since at the time he was doing more gaming and needed the upgrade.

Edit by Vec: Winner #1 GTX 980

Ship type: Pick up
Last LAN: PDXLAN 32B
Current GPU: None
Why: Recent times of hardship required certain sacrifices and one of those where parts from this persons setup. The lack of a GPU and down grade in monitor makes playing AAA titles impossible and doing multi media work but a mere dream for them. They are always one of the first to offer help, be it for moving, organizing gatherings, or even just as a shoulder to lean on. I feel they are truly deserving of a GPU as they've helped so many before themselves.

Ship type: Pick up
Last LAN: PDXLAN 32B
Current GPU: none
Why:
This person got hooked on PDX Lan and passed their old rig to a new breed of gamers to begin their assimilation to the PC master race. This person js now building a rig to replace what he shared out of his own heart.

Sadly he cannot finish this without help as this persons father is going in for a quadruple bypass on Friday @ 7am.

This puts all else on hold and must help the other part of their family.

Ship type: Pick up
Last LAN: PDXLAN 32B
Current GPU: GTX 760 2GB
Why: My friends brother recently started attending PDXLAN with our group. I believe it’s been 3 now in the last two years? Several months ago he had a work accident to which he fell 3 stories onto a rock. After the removal of his spleen, part of his pancreas, and a lengthy ICU stay he’s now back on his feet. He’s always had to borrow a spare computer from someone in our group so this last LAN (32B). Our group was able to part away with some computer parts to help him build his own computer but the best GPU we had was a GTX 760 2GB. It would be great to surprise him with a much more capable GPU.

Winner #2 - GTX 970
