Join date script working!

A few of you had asked if we could migrate the join date from your old user profile. Staff member Pietzaaah wrote a cute little script to look at both the username and email address in both forums, and if there is a match, it updates your "join date and time"

If you have questions on how it worked, I am sure he'd be glad to tell ya.

Thanks Pietz!

Yeah, totally out of curiosity: Is there a git repo for this code? :)

You are the best! (Because if you weren't the best, you'd accidentally delete the DB...) =)

It's kinda funny... you look at peoples join dates, back in 2005 and 2007 and they have 3 or 4 posts. :D

Mine isn't working... shame =/

Edit: I wonder if it's because my name had a slight typo previously. In the old forum it was SOmeguyrb, when it should be Someguyrb

I believe it attempts to match by email or username.

It's a super simple MySQL Trigger that matches up by email only. I can modify it to match additionally by username, but I wanted to prevent username squatting.

I'm happy to share the source. I'll post it when I get home from a weekend trip. I shared it with the staff if one of them wants to repost the screenshot.

hmm... I originally used my new updated email, but when I realized it was a different email then I used before, I changed it to the one I used... Did I ruin my chances because of that?

The match happens only during user creation. I can run it manually though, one sec...

EDIT: Updated

Hi all,

It doesn't appear that the join date script successfully triggered when I recreated my account using my original handle and original email address.

Could I get some help on this front if I cannot have my new handle (NightFox) updated with my join date?

Thanks

Your original account "NightFox" has been updated.
