Best brands for hard line, fittings, and fluid?

Post by Socialoutcast » Fri Jul 20, 2018 8:00 pm

Hey guys I am getting set to swap over to PETG in my new R6 case. I will be cooling my 7700K OC to 5Ghz and my 1080ti Kingpin (FINALLY). What I currently have is a EK Supremacy EVO full nickel for my 7700K, EK Coolstream SE 360 Rad, pushed by a XSPC D5 Photon Reservoir/Pump Combo. I will be deliding for better cooling. I am going to be getting the only block currently made for my kingpin from Bykski. What I am wondering is who's the best brand for hard line, fittings, and fluids? I was looking at some primochil fittings with their PETG but want to make sure I am getting the best I can. I have considered Bitspower as well. I want to go with a nice red color theme in my new black case. I may swap the Rad as well for a standard 360 since the case should be able to utilize it better than my Define S. This will be my very 1st hard line setup so I am sure I will screw a few bends up thats why I am buying extra tubing lol.

One thing to be careful with is some Primochil fluids break down, lose color, and gunk up your loop if you have any aluminum in your loop. I don't think all of them are this way, but I know for sure the "True" line is one of them.

If this is your first time i recommend primochill. Their petg and fittings are the easiest i have used as well as the most forgiving. They have a nice dye that you mix with distilled water that works well. I wouldnt recommend a "show fluid" like aurora or vue for your first time. Please feel free to ask questions i can try to help.

Yeah I will not be running Vue thats for sure. I just want a nice dark red to go with the fittings. Red on Black theme.

I am running a True Opaque in my loop now. Whats the best way to clean it out of my rad? Also Is the Ice fluid from Primochill better than they True Transparent? I want a nice deep clear red. Or should I just get some dye and do it myself?

For "deep cleaning" a rad, there are a few options...
If you're not running it in a loop, just cleaning it individually, then a vinegar/distilled water mix works.

If you're going for a full loop flush, and it's got any nickel plated anything, don't use vinegar. (I did and even using a really diluted mix, it ate the nickel plating off my gpu block... :P)
I would go for something like Primochill Reboot or Mayhems Blitz.
